Prescriptions

Nettlebed Dispensary

Nettlebed Surgery has a dispensary. We can dispense medication to patients who live more than 1 mile (1.6km) from a chemist (as the crow flies).

We normally dispense one month’s supply at a time.

Dispensing patients can collect their medication from the practice between 08:30 and 18:00, Monday to Friday, or from the PharmaSelf24 kiosk at any time.

If you pay for your medicines, please ensure that you bring payment with you. We may ask to see evidence of any payment exemption. Our preferred payment method is debit or credit card, but we also accept cash.

We are keen to ensure that patients with on-going medical problems are monitored regularly. If you are due to have a medication review, we may ask you to make an appointment.

Requesting Medication

You can request repeat prescriptions using the NHS App or Patient Access. Alternatively, please post or hand in a paper request. We cannot accept telephone requests for repeat prescriptions.

Please allow 3 full working days after requesting repeat medicationThis will give the surgery time to authorise and process your request, order stock and dispense items.

Outside surgery hours, if you need a prescription urgently, please contact 111 or your local pharmacy.

Controlled Medication

Controlled medications can be collected between 8:30 and 17:00. Please bring photo ID with you when collecting controlled medication.

Emergency Contraception

What happens when you see a Consultant privately?

Some patients opt to receive some or all of their treatment privately, and we support your right to do so.

In order to prevent any misunderstanding we would like to explain how the NHS and General Practice work alongside private providers of care. This document outlines how shared care prescribing works when you see a doctor privately Private Consultants and Shared Care Prescribing
