You and Your GP Weight Management Medication Update – June 2025 Nettlebed Surgery Newsletter Age UK Oxfordshire: Digital Clinics for patients of Nettlebed Surgery
The Surgery has a Dispensary so we are able to dispense medications to patients who live more than 1.6km (1 mile) from a chemist (as the crow flies). Medicines can be collected between the hours of 08:30 – 18:00 on Monday to Friday. Prescriptions dispensed by the surgery can also be collected from the 24hr PharmaSelf kiosk sited in the surgery car park.
Outside surgery hours if you need a prescription urgently, please contact 111 or your local pharmacy. Further information is available here.
Repeat prescriptions can be ordered via Patient Access or the NHS App. Patients need to register for Patient Access or the NHS App. and can then order at any time. Alternatively you can obtain a form from the Patient Services team at the surgery who can create a Patient Access online account for you – you will need to provide photo ID (either a photo driving licence or passport), or current bank/utility statements bearing your current address. These will be copied and given straight back to you. For confidentiality reasons we recommend you do not use a shared email address when registering.
Alternatively you can send us your repeat prescription form (with the items you require circled) by post or delivered by hand. We no longer take prescription requests over the phone. Your medicines will be ready for collection 2 working days after we receive your order. If you require a written prescription posted to you, please provide a stamped addressed envelope.
Medicines are normally given out as a month’s supply at a time. If you pay for your medicines, please ensure that you bring payment with you. We may ask to see a proof of any exemption from charges. Our preferred payment method is debit or credit card, but we will accept cash.
We are keen to ensure that patients with on-going medical problems are monitored regularly. If the date for your next review with a doctor or nurse has passed you will be asked to make an appointment so that we can be sure the right medication continues to be prescribed.
Private Consultants and Shared Care Prescribing – We understand that some patients may opt to receive some or all of their treatment privately, and we support your right to do so.
In order to prevent any misunderstanding we would like to explain how the NHS and General Practice work alongside private providers of care. This document outlines how shared care prescribing works when you see a doctor privately Private Consultants and Shared Care Prescribing
