Patient Participation Group (PPG)

Nettlebed Surgery is always looking for new members for its Patient Participation Group (PPG). We need patients with an interest in helping us shape our services for the new generation of the NHS.

What is it? A group of patients who will assist the surgery in producing action plans which deliver improved services to our patients. Members will regularly review the current services we offer and consider new ones. Annually the practice will conduct a patient survey to collect patient views to assist in the review of services. The PPG will agree the questions for the survey, analyse the results, set priority areas for improvement or change, and agree an action plan with the surgery.

How will it work? We have decided to operate a virtual group or e-group. This means that the members will contact one another mainly by email. This has the advantage of being able to attract members who would not normally be able to attend meetings eg full time workers, students, disabled members and busy mums. We want to attract a cross section of our patients to get a representative range of views. We occasionally hold special meetings where we discuss a range of NHS topics with the doctors, these will either be physical face to face meetings at the surgery or via an online video meeting.

What will I be expected to do? Members will be expected to assist the surgery with decision making about its services and will be contacted by the Practice Manager regularly for their views, comments and suggestions. The time you will need to commit is estimated to be on average less than 1 hour per month. You will need to have access to the internet and email. You may be invited to attend workshops and public events but there is no requirement to do so.

Nettlebed Health Talks

We are thrilled to share that our first health talk on Heart Health, led by Dr. Harmandeep Singh, was a great success! The event was very well-received, with enthusiastic participation from our patients. We are grateful for your active involvement and the positive feedback.
