Men’s Health

For anyone who may be struggling themselves, or knows someone who is, it can be helpful to keep in mind some tips for maintaining good well-being.

Good Practice

  • Maintain some form of exercise and get outside in nature.
  • Connect with others; friends, family or community activities.

Remember the importance of healthy eating and try to keep a good sleep schedule. 

Restore

Restore helps hundreds of people a year, but they’re not the only ones. Valuable support is offered by organisations across the UK. The Restore website offers a long list and there’s a selection of support services for men below.

  • CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) – Aims to prevent male suicide through a free helpline, webchat, and awareness campaigns. www.thecalmzone.net
  • Oxfordshire Recovery College – Offers free courses, including some focused on men’s mental health. www.oxfordshirerecoverycollege.org.uk
  • Men’s Sheds Association – Provides spaces for men to connect, share skills, and reduce social isolation. www.menssheds.org.uk
  • Shout 85258 – A free, confidential 24/7 text support service for anyone in crisis. www.giveusashout.org
  • Movember Foundation – Focused on men’s health, including mental health, with impactful campaigns and resources. www.uk.movember.com
  • Andy’s Man Club – Offers free peer-to-peer support groups across the UK for men struggling with mental health. www.andysmanclub.co.uk
  • Samaritans – Available 24/7 for anyone in emotional distress or crisis. www.samaritans.org
